Yar delivers gifts and family food packages in Afghanistan for people living abroad. This page explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Yar is registered in the EU, so we handle your data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Account details: your email address, name and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account ID and profile photo.
Order details: what you ordered, the recipient’s name, phone number and address in Afghanistan, any gift message, and the delivery photo we take.
Payment details: payments are processed by Stripe (cards) or HesabPay. We never see or store your full card number.
Contact details you give us, such as your WhatsApp number, and the messages you send to our support team.
Charity fundraisers: if you start one, your name, email, WhatsApp number, ID (Tazkira or passport) number and payout account, used to check the fundraiser and pay you. If you donate, your name, email and optional message; your name and message are shown on the fundraiser page unless you choose to stay anonymous.
Marketing email: only if you sign up. You can unsubscribe with the link in every email.
To take, pay for, deliver and track your orders and mobile top-ups, and to send you the delivery photo.
To keep your account, saved recipients and monthly package working.
To answer your questions and handle refunds.
To prevent fraud and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Our team and couriers in Afghanistan see the recipient details they need to deliver your order.
Service providers that run parts of Yar for us: payment processors (Stripe, HesabPay), Google (sign-in), our database and hosting providers, and our email provider. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
We never sell your personal data.
We only use cookies needed to run the shop: to keep you signed in, and to remember your language and currency. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
To see which pages are popular, we count visits without cookies. We do not store IP addresses; a daily anonymous code (which cannot be traced back to you and changes every day) is used to count unique visitors. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, you are not counted.
We keep your account while it is open. Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Delivery photos and recipient details are kept so you can see your order history; you can ask us to delete them.
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email us at hello@yar.af and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
