Sell on Yar: A Simple Guide for Local Afghan Shops
The Yar team · · 2 min read

Yar is not only a gift shop. It is also a marketplace where local Afghan shops can sell their products to Afghans living abroad who want to send something to family at home. If you run a bakery, a flower shop, a dry fruit store or a handicraft business, this guide explains how selling on Yar works.
Who can sell on Yar
Yar is looking for real local shops in Afghanistan that sell products people are happy to give and receive: sweets, cakes, flowers, dry fruit, clothing, handicrafts, household goods and similar items. You do not need your own website, online payment system or delivery staff. Yar handles the online side, the customers abroad and the delivery.
How to join
- Fill in the application on the sell on Yar page with your shop's details and what you sell.
- Yar reviews every application and approves each shop before it can sell.
- Add your products with clear photos, honest descriptions and accurate prices.
- Yar checks every product before it goes live on the site, so customers know that what they see has been reviewed.
The 10% fee, explained simply
There is one simple fee: Yar keeps 10% of each item's price when it sells. The rest is yours. Shops are paid by Yar, so you do not need to deal with foreign cards, currency exchange or customers in other countries. Customers abroad pay Yar in US dollars or euros, and Yar takes care of the payment side.
Pickup and delivery
When an order comes in for one of your products, a Yar courier comes to your shop to pick it up and delivers it to the recipient. The same delivery standards apply as for every Yar order: the courier calls before arriving, the handover is photographed at the door and the recipient confirms on the courier's phone. Your job is to have the order ready, packed well and matching the product page.
Tips for doing well on Yar
- Use bright, clear photos that show the real product, not a catalogue picture.
- Write descriptions in plain words: size, weight, ingredients or materials.
- Keep your stock up to date so customers are not disappointed.
- Prepare orders carefully. A gift is often the only thing a family member abroad can send for an important day.
Customers browse approved sellers on the shops page. If you think your shop would be a good fit, start your application on the sell on Yar page, or read the help page first if you have questions.
